JOE E. KIANI
Chairman & CEO
Masimo Corporation

Joe E. Kiani is the founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Masimo Corporation. Mr. Kiani has held these positions since Masimo’s inception in 1989. Mr. Kiani is an inventor on more than 50 patents related to signal processing, sensors, and patient monitoring, including patents for the invention of motion and low-perfusion tolerant pulse oximetry. Prior to founding Masimo Corporation, Mr. Kiani served as regional technical manager for Anthem Electronics, and field applications engineer for Bell Industries, which distributed advanced semiconductor components. He serves on the Board of SABA, a publicly traded software company focused on Human Capital Development and Management solutions, Orange County Section of March of Dimes, and the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA). Mr. Kiani has a B.S.E.E. degree and an M.S.E.E. degree from San Diego State University.

EAMONN P. HOBBS

Eamonn Hobbs is President and Chief Executive Officer of AngioDynamics; he is also a co-founder of the company. Mr. Hobbs has more than 25 years experience in interventional radiology, interventional cardiology and the gastroenterology medical device industry. He is a bio-medical engineer, with a Bachelor of Sciences in Plastics Engineering with a Biomaterials emphasis from University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Mr. Hobbs started his career at Cook Incorporated. From 1983 to 1985, he was President and CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Hobbs Medical Inc., a medical device firm focused on interventional devices for gastroenterologists. He later served as a Vice President and Senior Vice-President of E-Z-EM, with operational responsibility for what would become AngioDynamics. Mr. Hobbs is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation. In 2005 he was granted an Honorary Fellowship from by the Society of Interventional Radiology and is the only member of the medical device industry to serve on the SIR strategic planning committee. He joined the Medical Device Manufacturers Association Board in 2005.

ALEXIS LUKIANOV

Mr. Lukianov serves as Chairman and CEO of NuVasive, a medical device spine company which develops and markets unique minimally disruptive surgery products. Since joining NuVasive as CEO in 1999, he has led the company through venture capital financing, commercialization, initial public offering, public follow-on offering and a convertible debt financing for potential acquisitions. NuVasive has a market capitalization of well over $1 billion. Lukianov has over 25 years of senior management experience in the orthopedic industry and has been associated with building highly-successful companies. He was a founder, chairman and chief executive officer of BackCare Group, which he sold to a Robert Bass company. Lukianov served as a director of the Ilizarov Business Unit of Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics, and was directly responsible for bringing revolutionary limb lengthening and tissue regeneration technology out of Russia and establishing worldwide manufacturing, marketing, and sales. He was also a key manager in a sports medicine joint venture in artificial ligaments between Stryker Corporation and Meadox Medicals. Mr. Lukianov serves on several industry trade boards of California Health Institute (CHI), BIOCOM, and Medical Device Manufacturers Association as well as Volcano Corp., and Opthonix.

Kelvyn Cullimore Jr presently serves as Chairman, President & CEO of Dynatronics Corporation, a publicly traded medical device manufacturer with headquarters in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Kelvyn has served as a Director and Officer of Dynatronics since it was founded in 1979. Prominent in the physical therapy market, Dynatronics is known for its advanced technology electrotherapy and ultrasound devices, pain management systems and aesthetic products. Dynatronics equipment is used by top therapists and trainers with a majority of professional sports franchises and college teams owning Dynatronics products. In November 2004 he was elected the first Mayor of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, a new city of approximately 40,000 residents after serving for three years on the committee to incorporate the area. Since 1992, Kelvyn has been a member of the Board and chairman of the audit committee of ITEC Attractions, an entertainment company operating in Branson, Missouri. In 2003 he joined the board of directors of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association headquartered in Washington, D.C. and currently serves on its executive committee. Kelvyn also serves as a member of the Life Sciences Advisory Board for the Utah Technology Council.

Mark Leahey is the Executive Director for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA), a national trade association in Washington, DC that represents research-driven medical technology companies. Mr. Leahey's responsibilities include advocating on behalf of the entrepreneurial sector of the medical device industry to Congress, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other federal and state agencies. He has lobbied for a more reasonable user fee for smaller companies, worked to open access to the hospital marketplace by challenging the exclusionary and anti-competitive nature of certain large group purchasing organizations (GPOs), as well as ensure that medical device technologies are reimbursed adequately. Mr. Leahey currently sits on the Medical Devices Committee for the Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI) and the Editorial Advisory Board of Medical Product Outsourcing. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and a graduate of Georgetown University, the Georgetown Law Center and Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business.

Thomas Novelli is currently the Director of Federal Affairs for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA). Mr. Novelli joined MDMA after working on the Committee on Finance for former Chairman and current Ranking Member, Senator Charles Grassley, for nearly four years. At the Committee, he worked on several areas directly affecting the medical device and pharmaceutical industries including Federal reimbursement, drug and device safety and approval, and fraud and abuse in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Mr. Novelli conducted several high-profile investigations into the pharmaceutical and medical device industries including the investigations of the use of educational grants and off-label marketing, clinical research organizations, and conflicts of interest in the healthcare industry. He is currently working on issues facing the device industry, including ensuring adequate and timely reimbursement for new medical technologies, transparency issues involving manufacturers and physicians, and patent legislation currently before the Congress. Mr. Novelli holds a Master of Arts in Policy, with Honors, from the Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Dayton.

Erin Jones is the Director of Membership and Programs for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) in Washington, D.C., a national trade association providing educational and advocacy assistance to innovative and entrepreneurial medical technology companies. She is responsible for increasing MDMA’s visibility by growing membership and developing marketing strategies that include outreach to medical device companies nation-wide. In addition, Erin manages the Association’s national meetings and regional seminars. Prior to joining MDMA, Erin was the Missouri Events Director for the Bush-Cheney ’04 Campaign. She also served on the staff of Senator Jim Talent (R-MO). Erin earned her bachelors degree in political science from the University of Missouri.
