Eamonn P. Hobbs
President & CEO, Antares Pharma, Inc.
Mr. Hobbs has over 30 years experience in the interventional
radiology, oncology, interventional cardiology, surgery and gastroenterology
medical device and medical device/pharmaceutical combination product
From 1988 until 2009, Mr. Hobbs was Co-founder, President and
CEO of AngioDynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ: ANGO). Over his 21 year tenure, he built
AngioDynamics into a leading medical technology company with an international
market presence and a highly diverse product line. Mr. Hobbs led the Company's efforts
in marketing, strategic planning, product development, and general management. In addition to AngioDynamics, Mr. Hobbs was
the President and CEO of Delcath Systems, Inc., Director of Marketing and
Product Development at NAMIC, Vice President of Business Development at E-Z-EM,
Inc., Founder, President and CEO of Hobbs Medical, Inc., and started his career
as a Product Development Engineer at Cook Incorporated.
Mr. Hobbs is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA). In addition
to serving as Chairman of Morris Innovations, Inc., Mr. Hobbs currently serves
as Chairman of the Board of Marvao Medical, and serves on the Board of
Directors of Antares Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATRS) and Harmonic Medical Inc. Mr. Hobbs is also founder, President and CEO
of Hobbs Medical Ventures, LLC a firm focused on private equity financed
mergers and acquisitions in the medical device field. From 2008 to 2013 Mr.
Hobbs was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cappella Cardiovascular
Innovations, Inc., and served on the Board of Directors of Sentinelle Medical,
Inc. from 2008 to 2011, which was sold to Hologic, Inc. providing a very
successful exit for investors.
Mr. Hobbs received a Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering
with a Biomaterials emphasis at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell in
1980, where he earned the President’s Medal for Outstanding Achievement, and in
2010 was honored by recieving the Francis Lowell Award for Outstanding
Achievement in Business. In 2006 Mr.
Hobbs was granted a rare honorary fellowship in the Society of Interventional
Radiology (SIR), which was only the third honorary fellowship ever granted a
non-physician in the Society’s 40 year history.
