Beth Halpern's practice focuses on healthcare law, with an emphasis on coverage and reimbursement for drugs, devices, and healthcare services. She advises pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, providers, and related trade associations on compliance with current regulations and responding to proposed changes in the law, including implementation of health reform, parallel review of new technologies, comparative effectiveness, and coverage of clinical trials. She also works with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and device manufacturers to develop and implement strategies for obtaining coverage and reimbursement for new technologies. Beth has testified before advisory panels to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and has presented to conferences on coverage, coding, and payment. In addition, she has served as in-house counsel to a large biotechnology company, advising on government affairs and promotional compliance matters.
While in law school, Beth was a legal research and writing law fellow, as well as executive editor of the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy. Beth also participated in the Georgetown Federal Legislation Clinic.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells as an attorney, Beth was both a law clerk and legal assistant for the firm.
