MDMA has been the consistent and strongest voice in Congress driving the efforts to repeal the medical device tax starting when it was first proposed in 2009. While many thought that MDMA's position against the device tax was untenable and foolhardy, we never gave up fighting against this punitive policy. As a result of the passionate advocacy, Congress passed a two-year suspension of the device tax at the end of 2015.
MDMA and our members remain vigilant to permanently repeal the device tax once and for all, but suspension of this tax highlights that when innovators share the powerful stories about the lifesaving and life changing innovations they develop, we CAN change misguided policies.
