C. Russell Trenary, III

C. Russell Trenary III (Russ) is Director and acting President & CEO for Ace Vision Group, an early stage company developing treatments for the restoration of visual accommodation. Previous to that he held a variety of positions at Advanced Medical Optics (EYE:NYSE) including Executive Vice President, Global Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs, President, Global Cataract business, Chief Marketing Officer, and President of the Americas. He rejoined AMO after the company’s 2002 spin-off from Allergan. From 1996 to 2001, Mr. Trenary was the President of Sunrise Technologies International, Inc., and from 1997 to 2001 he held the additional title of Chief Executive Officer. From 1995 to 1996, Mr. Trenary was Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, for Vidamed, Inc. Mr. Trenary began his career in 1981 with American Hospital Supply Corporation (AHSC), and in 1986, was a manager for the American Medical Optics division of AHSC when that division was acquired by Allergan. This became the business under which Allergan entered the ophthalmic surgical market. While at Allergan from 1987 to 1995, Mr.Trenary held positions of increasing responsibility in the surgical business segment, culminating with the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMO Surgical Products, a position he held from 1991 to 1995. Mr. Trenary holds a Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Miami University (Ohio). He is a member on the Board of Directors For Ace Vision Group and the Medical Device Manufacturers Association.
