Clayton Hall Brings over 12 Years of Capitol Hill Experience

WASHINGTON, DC
-- The Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) today announced the hiring of Clayton Hall, a seasoned Capitol Hill staffer, who will serve as the new Vice President of Government Affairs.  Hall’s addition to the team comes on the heels of growing momentum to repeal the medical device tax, and ongoing implementation of MDUFA reforms and reimbursement challenges facing the industry.

“Clayton’s diverse experiences on Capitol Hill and extensive knowledge of healthcare policy will be a tremendous asset to MDMA and our members,” said Mark Leahey, President and CEO of MDMA.  “More than ever it is important that medical technology innovators have a voice in Washington, and MDMA will continue our proud tradition of passionate advocacy.”

Hall spent 12 years working on Capitol Hill and served as Chief of Staff to three Members of the U.S. House of Representatives: former Congressmen Jim McCrery (LA) and Anh "Joseph" Cao (LA), and most recently Congressman Tim Griffin (AR).  Hall managed a diverse portfolio of policy issues, playing a major role in drafting numerous pieces of legislation, including legislation to reform the federal regulatory systems, grant new visas to foreigners with advanced degrees in STEM fields, and more.  Hall received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Washington and Lee University.

“Medical technology innovators are at the forefront of improving the quality of life for patients, while providing great jobs that support countless communities,” said Hall.  “I’m excited to join the MDMA team to help ensure that the United States remains the global leader in this important industry, and that patients have access to the technologies of tomorrow.”
